Mawlawi Es'haq Madani Urges Muslim Authorities to Lead Nations Towards Unity

Senior Iranian Sunni scholar has called on the authorities in Islamic countries to lead their nations towards solidarity hailing Iran for pursuing the objective since early days of Islamic Revolution.
Mawlawi Es'haq Madani, member of the supreme council at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, delivering speech at the opening ceremony of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference in the capital Tehran expressed hope that all Muslim countries follow the example of Iran in pursuing solidarity among Muslims both in the level of authorities and the religious scholars, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said," Scholars have occasionally worked on Islamic unity but the efforts and facilities of the enemies for a counter measure have been more."
Iranian Sunni scholar noted," Those have contributed to promotion of Islamic unity have been a number of clerics with less facilities rather than the authorities" praising the Islamic Republic of Iran as the sole country where authorities contribute to Islamic unity.
Mawlawi Es'haq Madani praised late Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khamenei over strives for Islamic unity before they took responsibilities and even the time they were in exile in the Sunni-dominated southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan.
"A number of prominent figures are sceptic demanding if unity among Muslims is possible despite the historical disagreements among Muslims" said the Sunni scholar and added," Yes solidarity is possible and the best role model for that our ancestors; hence, we should see how they behaved and achieved unity despite the disagreements among them."
Senior Sunni cleric, Mawlawi Es'haq Madani made the comments in his speech at the opening ceremony of the 35th Islamic Unity Conference on Tuesday.
35th edition of Islamic Unity Conference is underway in the capital Tehran on October 19-24 mainly in virtual meetings of Muslim scholars, intellectuals and thinkers from across the globe. The theme for Islamic Unity Conference 2021 is "Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the World of Islam."
