Dr. Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of The World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, while congratulating in advance on the occasion of the beginning of Unity Week, said: “The emblem of the Islamic Republic is a sign produced by Imam Khomeini. And manifests itself at different times and appears in different peaks, one of these peaks is the Unity Week.”
He added: “Unity Week is based on the slogan of the Late Imam Khomeini (RA) based on supporting the oppressed of the world; This week is a week among different denominations and sects of Islam and different organizations of the Islamic world and is one of the ideals of the Qur’an and Islam.
Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimin Dr. Shahriari said: “One of our honors is that we are the Ummah of the Messenger of God (PBUH); The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, with the establishment of The World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, tried to bring the slogan of the late Imam Khomeini (RA) to the forefront in order to pursue effective measures to achieve unity.”
He added: “In The World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, we seek the formation of a Unified Islamic Ummah and the establishment of the Union of Islamic Countries, and we have drawn these in the peaks of honor for the future of the Islamic world, in order to realize the slogan of Imam Khomeini (RA) in support of the oppressed of the world, with the help of the young generation and the active youth of the Islamic World.”
Dr. Shahriari, while appreciating the activities of the Islamic Advertising Coordination Council during Unity Week, gave a summary of the programs of The World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in this week, including the programs of the International Islamic Unity Conference, and said: “In this year’s International Islamic Unity Conference, 414 lecturers from 39 countries will give their speeches in the form of webinars and 52 guests from 16 countries will participate in person; 180 guests from the provinces of the country will also speak at the closing ceremony.”
The Secretary General of The World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought said: “In this conference, we have 7 proximity meetings entitled the “Compassionate Ummah” and 24 webinars, one of which will be about Palestine and the Resistance and the other will be about Ayatollah Taskhiri.”
Referring to the broadcast of clips and video programs about the Unified Islamic Ummah at this year’s Unity Conference, he said: “Some institutions and individuals pursue their proximity and unifying activities as in the past, and different provinces can do the same for their activities in this week.”
Dr. Shahriari, referring to the naming of the days of Unity Week, noted that the 13th of Rabi‘ al-Awwal, as the Day of Palestine and Resistance, the 14th of Rabi‘ al-Awwal, the Day of Peace and Religious Coexistence, the 15th of Rabi‘ al-Awwal, the Day of Combating Global Arrogance, the 16th of Rabi‘ al-Awwal, the World Day of Supporting the Oppressed and the 17th of Rabi‘ al-Awwal has been registered as the day of governorship and leadership.
He stressed: “We pursue the issue of unity as a strategic issue and not a temporary one; The unity does not mean the unification of denominations, but the purpose of finding common interests and striving to achieve these interests, solving the problems of the ummah and achieving the recommended ideal of the Holy Qur’an, i. e. the same verse « مُّحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ اللَّهِ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ أَشِدَّاءُ عَلَى الْكُفَّار» “Muhammad is the Messenger of God and those who are with him are stubborn to the infidels and kind to the believers.”
The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought emphasized: “Our common enemy is the Zionist regime, which has various plans to create divisions and conflicts between denominations in Islamic countries;” If we have sectarianism somewhere, it is the global arrogance and the Zionist regime that are trying to turn this sectarianism into violence, war, terror, and blasphemy, to promote hatred in Islamic society, and to prevent the creation of the Unified Islamic Ummah.”
“We all have a duty to pursue the issue of unity,” he said, “Any Shiite or Sunni who insults another denomination is not from the Ummah of the Messenger of God (PBUH).”
Dr. Shahriari said: “We recommend to all the statesmen of Islamic countries to thwart the enemy’s sinister plans, including the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime; The normalizers of relations should return to Islam and the Qur’an and stop supporting the occupying Zionist regime, because the Muslim Ummah cannot tolerate this action of the Islamic countries and considers it a betrayal to the Islamic Ummah and the Qur’an and the Messenger of God (PBUH).”
At the beginning of the meeting, Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimin Mojtaba Ashjari, Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Advertising Coordinating Council, while congratulating the birthday of Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH), said: “The Holy Prophet of Islam can be the axis of unity and many unsolvable problems of the Islamic world can be solved through empathy.”
He continued: “Unity Week is a good opportunity to unite against the sedition of the enemies, and the registration of this week is a prelude to the unity of the Islamic Ummah against the arrogant conspiracies; This opportunity can be used for goodness and increase empathy in the Islamic world.”
Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimin Ashjari emphasized: “Certainly, intellectuals and thinkers can introduce the slogan “O you Muslims, be united” to the society during the year and especially in the Unity Week.”
Emphasizing that division is a betrayal to Islam, he said: “The most important tool of the enemies to dominate Islamic countries is to create religious differences; As long as there is division, unity has no meaning; Enlarging the axis of differences is one of the most fundamental arrogant conspiracies against Muslims;”
From the Supreme Leader’s point of view, unity has several meanings, including relying on commonalities, empathy with each other, denial of conflict, sense of brotherhood, political solidarity, cooperation of Muslims with each other, and so on.
The deputy head of the Islamic Advertising Coordinating Council noted: “Today, the Muslims of the world are upset and we have witnessed anti-religious criminals in Kunduz and Kandahar, Afghanistan, killing a number of Muslims; Arrogance with the tools of ISIS seeks division in this country.”
Referring to the plans of the Islamic Advertising Coordinating Council during Unity Week, he announced the readiness of the Sunni provinces to carry out activities related to Unity Week.
Following this meeting, the provincial representatives of the Islamic Advertising Coordinating Council, including Sistan and Baluchestan, Kermanshah, Bushehr, South Khorasan, as well as institutions such as the Endowment Organization, the Islamic Development Organization, the Basij Organization, etc. presented a report on their plans for Unity Week.
