Just War and Just Peace; The Main Focus of the 35th Islamic Unity Conference / 514 in Person Speeches and Webinars

The press conference for the 35th Islamic Unity Conference was held at University of Islamic Denominations on Saturday as the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought highlighted the theme and schedule for the annual Islamic event hosted by the Islamic Republic.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought expressed regret over the catastrophes including war and terror attacks challenging the world of Islam and highlighted the role of Islamic Unity Conference to address these issues in an annual convention as a platform for the Shia and Sunni scholars to discuss their views, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said, “All scholars and thinkers across the world of Islam are responsible in regards to addressing these issues as we have decided to set the theme for this edition of the Islamic Unity Conference on "Just War and Peace.”
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought enumerated the eight axes to be discussed in 35th Islamic Unity Conference while the issue of Palestine, resistance and late Ayatollah Taskhiri are the main axes to be discussed in the upcoming event.
He said “Just war and peace, Islamic brotherhood and countering terrorism, religious freethinking, acceptance of denominational Ijtihad and confronting Takfir and extremism and also Islamic empathy and sympathy, avoidance of tensions and conflicts, mutual respect between Islamic denominations, observance of the etiquette of difference and avoidance of quarrels, desecration and insults, explaining the unified Islamic nation and Islamic countries union are the subjects to be discussed by participants.”
Explaining the unified Ummah and union of Islamic countries and discussing the role models proposed for them are among the major axes for webinars in this conference.
According to Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimin Dr. Shahriari four meetings and seven proximity summits will be held under the title of “Compassionate Ummah” as university and seminary lecturers will discuss their viewpoints.
Senior cleric announced that President Ebrahim Raeisi and the Parliament speaker will deliver speech at the opening and closing meetings which will be held with limited number of guests due to the COVID-19 circumstances.
514 participants from 39 countries across the globe will attend the different meetings and 360 experts will deliver speech in 24 webinars scheduled for the 35th Islamic Unity Conference.
