Sheikh Ahmad Aroul, a lecturer in Qur’anic sciences at the Hamza Qur’an School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, said that unity in the Islamic world is most necessary for the common good and the sense of responsibility of Muslims towards each other and added: “Unity among Muslims must first be formed in the lower strata and the general public. In that case, politicians and leaders of Islamic governments have no choice but to accept unity and move towards it. In fact, they will also accept that if Muslims unite, there is a possibility of realizing national interests.”
He added: “If Muslims are looking for unity, they should eliminate the conflict of interests between them and by explaining the common threats of the Islamic world, make it clear that if a threat occurs to a nation, it seems to happen to all Muslim communities.”
He also said that Muslims should offer a merciful and moderate Islam to the world and declare that Islam is the religion of tolerance and seeks to bring everyone together. This is not possible unless all Muslims go through small differences for a larger purpose.”
Sheikh Ahmad Aroul stated: “Identifying the roots of Muslims’ differences and confrontation with oppression, discrimination, religious inequality, poverty, cultural poverty, spiritual poverty, economic poverty, poverty of social capital is very important in order to build a Unified Islamic Ummah and revive the Islamic Civilization. In order to achieve these goals, the life and conduct of the great prophet of Islam should be modeled, who with his miracle, which was of the word and speech, invited everyone to the religion of Islam. In this way, returning to the original Islam, the Qur’an and rationality and prudence seems more necessary than ever to build a bridge between religion and the world and make everyone familiar with it.
