35th International Islamic Unity Conference

Mahabad Friday Imam: Islamic Iran Shines Like a Jewel in the Islamic World as a Pioneer in the Field of Proximity

فق

Mamousta Abdulsalam Emami, in an interview with the reporter of the Provinces of Taqrib News Agency, referring to the Islamic Unity Conference as one of the memorials of Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and stating that this conference is very important, said: “Fortunately, Imam Khomeini (RA) continued the way of the great people such as Ayatollah Boroujerdi and Sheikh Mahmoud Shaltout, and before that Seyyed Jamaluddin Asadabadi and Sheikh Mohammad Abduh and other scholars in Iran and other countries.
He added: “It is an honor that today Islamic Iran shines as a pioneer in the field of proximity like a jewel in the Islamic world and it is hoped that the we see the achievement to the goals for proximity of denominations and the unity of the Islamic Ummah in the world today, in the religion of Islam in practice.”
The Friday Imam of Mahabad, pointing out that Imam Khomeini and many Sunni and Shiite scholars have done many services in the field of interfaith proximity, said: “We hope that this year’s conference on Islamic unity will be able to untie existing knots in the Islamic world as in previous years.”
He added: “Given the current situation in the Islamic world, all countries, religions and schools of thought are looking for a union to maintain their existence, i. e. the countries of the European Union or Africa or the United States, as well as many political, military and economic treaties in the world today.”
The Friday Imam of Mahabad said: “However, unfortunately, the only place where we do not see even a union at the political, economic and even religious level is the Islamic world, and we hope to see real unity among the Islamic nations in the path of the unity conference, and what unfortunately we see in the Islamic world today is that Muslims are killed more by themselves than by infidels.”
He said: “The differences and problems that exist in Yemen, Bahrain, Afghanistan and parts of Pakistan, Palestine and Syria, are in some way related to these countries and this is one of the plans of the Zionist regime and we hope that, through following the Holy Qur’an and the Messenger of God (PBUH) and the Imams, we see the unity in the Islamic society perfectly and we hope that this year, the Islamic Unity Conference will be able to achieve its predetermined goals and we will see guests from all over the country and the world there.”
