Mawlawi Nazir Ahmad Salami, the representative of Zahedan people in the Assembly of Leadership Experts, on the evening of Tuesday, October 18, at the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference, in a speech on "Islamic Brotherhood and the fight against terrorism" said: “Ways to achieve Islamic Brotherhood and fraternity is unity and solidarity. It is true that the Islamic Brotherhood is one of the social pillars of the Islamic system, and before migrating from Mecca to Medina, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) provided the ground for the Islamic Brotherhood in the form of two conferences held in Mina, and the Prophet (PBUH) with a number of the people of Medina and the leaders of the tribes of Medina who had come for pilgrimage met and discussed the issue of emigration and Islamic brotherhood. Since most of the people of Medina were from the tribes of Aws and Khazraj and there were hundreds of years of wars and differences between them, the Prophet (PBUH) wanted to reduce these differences and after the ground was prepared, he migrated to Medina.”
Pointing out that the Holy Quran has introduced the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as a perfect role model for all the people of the world, he said: “In connection with the Islamic Brotherhood, we have many verses and hadiths that have always been repeated to any Muslim, especially to the people. Iran, which holds this unity conference every year, is not familiar with these vague verses and traditions.”
Salami added: “Today, we Muslims, with all the tendencies we have, accept in theory that Islamic brotherhood and fraternity are important religious teachings, and the most important element of social, political and economic victory against the enemies is the preservation of brotherhood, solidarity and fraternity, and in theory, everyone agrees, but in practice this is a bit difficult, so people have to strive.”
He continued: “The reason for this problem is that today, instead of being based on Islamic sects, we should be based on Islam and religion, and not on denominations that are a subset of Islam and are the result of the ijtihad of mujtahids, but the basis must be Islam. Denominations are the branches of the tree and Islam is the trunk of the tree.”
Mawlawi Salami emphasized: “If we want this unity, brotherhood and fraternity to be formed in a desirable way and to be fruitful, we must put denomination in the position that Islam has given it, Islam in the place that the Qur’an has placed and we believe in it. Our attention and our efforts should be focused on the progress and growth of the religion and Islam.”
He added: “We must focus our attention, ability and intellectual and physical strength on the growth of religion and the promotion of Islam. Differences in issues lead to the growth and promotion of human thought and intellect, so scientists, intellectuals and scholars are asked to pay attention to this point and base Islam and religion. Focus our attention, our capacities, and our intellectual and physical talents on the religion of Islam, while maintaining religious differences.”
Salami stressed: “If we understand the meaning and concept of brotherhood and solidarity, these religious differences not only do not hinder solidarity, but also provide the basis for greater unity and solidarity.”
Regarding “Islamic Brotherhood and Countering Terrorism”, he noted: “There is no doubt that terrorism, governmental or state terrorism, or party and individual terrorism, are all problems. The enemies and representatives of the global arrogance have chosen several paths throughout history in order to weaken Islam and Muslims and stop the growth of Islam, and if they do not achieve their goal in one tactic, they will choose another. One of those tactics is terrorism, the assassination of elites, prominent scientists and scholars, and the religious and political figures of the Islamic world, and they want to stop the scientific progress of Muslims.”
Regarding the role of Islamic Brotherhood in weakening and eliminating terrorism, he said: “Islamic Brotherhood and Islamic solidarity and unity can play the most effective and key role in eliminating and neutralizing terrorism. If Muslims are all united and unravel the intellectual, political, economic and financial roots of terrorism through unity and solidarity, it is natural that terrorism will be weakened and they will not be able to assassinate our elites, scientists, scholars and religious leaders. They cannot achieve this goal as long as we Muslims maintain Islamic brotherhood and solidarity and take steps in the same direction and with unity and solidarity by preserving Islamic brotherhood and Islamic solidarity in order to eliminate the roots of terrorism.”
In the end, he concluded: “Islamic brotherhood and counterterrorism are two complementary categories. If we do not have Islamic brotherhood, we will not be able to deal with terrorism in a favorable way. If we do not confront terrorism and do not have the capacity to confront it and do not have the ability to confront it, we will still not be able to establish Islamic brotherhood among the Islamic Ummah. These two categories are complementary. The Islamic Brotherhood prepares the ground for the fight against terrorism, and the fight against terrorism causes the Islamic Ummah, motivated by the fight against terrorism, to forget all its minor differences and religious differences, which is the essence of preserving Islam itself. And it is a religion, and if Muslims focus their attention on this point, then we can achieve our goals as soon as possible in both categories, namely, the establishment of Islamic brotherhood and the elimination of terrorism.”
