Mawlawi Ishaq Madani, a member of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, said at the opening ceremony of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference, congratulating the birthday anniversary of Holy Prophet (PBUH): “Unity is an issue that scholars have tried to achieve from time to time. The efforts of those who have worked against unity have been greater and with more facilities.”
He continued: “Those who discuss unity are not the leaders of countries; Rather, there are a number of scholars who do not have many facilities. The only place where the authorities are in the service of unity with all facilities is the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Mawlawi Ishaq Madani pointed out: “Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader worked hard for unity before reaching the position of leader. Ayatollah Khamenei, before taking over the leadership and while in exile in Sistan and Baluchestan, took many steps to unite Muslims in the region.”
He said that “since the beginning of the revolution, the Islamic Republic of Iran has pursued the issue of unity both at the level of officials and scholars, and expressed hope that this thinking has become stronger in other countries of the Islamic world and high-ranking officials with more facilities and equipment. They have more advertisement; they can lead the Ummah as much as possible towards unity.”
A member of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought said: “Many personalities raise the question of whether there is any possibility of unity in spite of all the differences that have existed among Muslims in some centuries of history. Yes, unity is possible, and the best example in this regard is the righteous predecessor of the Ummah. Let’s see how those who accept all religions acted in unity, while having different thoughts and ideas.”
