Representative of the Supreme Leader in Hormozgan province enumerated the points which should be maintained by Muslims in a bid to achieve unity in his address to the webinar in the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Ebadizadeh, senior Iranian cleric in his remarks counted the "principle of belief in unity" as the first issue that must be considered by Muslims in their pursuit of materializing unified Muslim Ummah, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He referred to the Book and tradition for the second point to be maintained by Muslims across the globe if they truly seek establishment of a unified Islamic nation.
The cleric warned of divisive plots which hinder materialization of Islamic unity and said," Our enemies are always looking for conspiracies, plots to divide the Islamic Ummah" calling on Muslims to highlight the factors for closer ties among them.
According to the cleric another issue is to pay attention to national interests rather than the ethnic, racial, or even inter-religion interests and the like.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Ebadizadeh noted that one way to manage the dispute is to marginalize the extremist movements that usually exist between Shias and Sunnis.
He stressed that the religious prejudices should be put aside and that Muslims should avoid any provocation rather highlighted the numerous commonalities.
"Why don't we pursue Islamic globalization today?" demanded the cleric and referred to an issue raised by the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic to create a new Islamic civilization.
He concluded that," This civilization will not be achieved by the Shias or the Sunnis alone" and that building a new Islamic civilization demands a joint move by both Shias and Sunnis.
The Iranian scholar expressed his views regarding the necessities for materialization of unified Muslim Ummah on the second day of the 35th Islamic Unity Conference on the theme "Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the World of Islam."
